Adobe Photoshop: Feather

Here is a short tutorial on how to soften the edges of your photos with an effect called feathering. Feathering is also known as vignetting, it is an image blended into the background with softened edges:
How-to:
1) First, use the selection tool to select the area of the picture you would like to preserve.
2) Menu->Select->Inverse
3) Menu->Select->Feather. Then choose a feather radius. I usually start with 10 pixels
4) Press delete and the softened edges will appear blending in with the background.
Any selection tool can be used, such as the ellipse selection tool or the lasso. Also the feather will blend in with the background, so set the color of your background first.

Nike + iPod

Great product! Either for the serious runner, or the occasional fitness fanatic looking to get more out of their workouts. With this kit a collaboration of Nike and Apple one can easily track distance, time, and calories burned. Simply insert the sensor into the Nike+ equipped shoes, a special compartment located beneath the insert. A receiver is the plugged into the dock connector of the iPod Nano. A motivational voice either man or woman updates you on your workout, providing information on time, distance traveled, and pace.
Unfortunately, it was not as easy as plug and play, I had to upgrade the system on my iPod as well as upgrade to a newer version of iTunes, losing about 15-30 minutes of my life.
As for my armband, I purchased one that does not allow for the visualization of the screen. Which makes the voice updater all the more important, but definitely something to think about when purchasing an armband.
Overall...strong recommendation of this product. I have even read/heard that the sensor can be fashioned to non-Nike+ shoes and works just as well, just requires some ingenuity.
